Upon arrival at the ranch each hunter will be given a brief overview of the hunting policies that were included in their hunting packet that they received by mail. Hunters will be required to sign a release of liability and ranch indemnification form prior to their arrival to the ranch. This form must be in our hands before the hunter will have access to the property. Safety is of the highest priority and safety issues will be strictly enforced.
We have a no non-sence policy at El Sueño Grande Ranch. Conduct by any individual causing property damage or creating a concern for safety, privacy or security of hunters, guest and ranch personnel will not be tolerated and the individual(s) causing these issues will be escorted off the property. Ranch Rules and Policy will be Enforced.
Each hunter will be taken to the gun range before their hunt begins. It is our intention to make sure that all firearms are on target and firing practices are observed by the guide before heading into the field. Avoiding wounded animals will help insure a more satisfying result for each hunter. Our policy is: If the hunter draws blood, the animal is considered killed and payment in full will be expected. All efforts will be made to recover a wounded or crippled animal regardless of age or gender. A hunter who wounds or cripples a deer may be required to acquire the services of tracking dogs at their expense. If the animal is not recovered the price of the animal will be determined by your guide. Hunters are responsible for removing the cape of their trophy and the quartering of the game to be taken home. A walk in cooler will be provided for the game storage until the hunter departs from the ranch.
At El Sueño Grande Ranch we cooperate fully with the rules and regulations set forth by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Agency, state and federal game wardens and any other law enforcement agency’s that enforce state game laws. Individuals who violate any of these rules and regulations will be asked to leave the property. No refunds will be given to you if you are removed from the property. All hunts are one on one with an experienced guide. While hunting the guide will assist you in making an accurate aging and scoring estimate. The decision of the guide is final. No deer will be harvested without the approval of the guide. Deer will be scored on the Boone & Crockett scoring system for gross score to determine final price and can also be scored by an official scorer for the Texas Big Game Awards if requested by the client. Even though we would like to be able to control the weather, sometimes conditions and events beyond our control can affect hunting on the property. Because of these conditions, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be successful in his/hers hunt.
Hunting from elevated blinds is the preferred method at El Sueño Grande Ranch. These blinds are large, comfortable and overlook senderos, where corn feeders or food plots have been placed. Although hunting from these blinds is preferred, when the conditions are just right, our guides like to “RATTLE UM UP.” This heart stopping method of calling deer is sure to get your adrenalin flowing.
Our intention is to provide each hunter with a pleasant and relaxing hunting experience. Our hunting policies have been implemented through first hand experience to each of these situations. We want to provide you with a fun and safe hunt that you will remember for years to come. We hope that your stay with us will be packed with great memories that you can share with your fellow hunters, friends and family.
